Alaskan Tours And Your Vacation Plans
For anyone looking for a nearly perfect vacation, Alaska is among the best choices. With a seemingly endless supply of attractions and activities there is plenty to do. This does not even mention the vast display of natural beauty. The good news is that there are a number of Alaskan tours that give visitors the chance to experience Alaska to its fullest. A good tour will provide the opportunity to find out many of the things Alaska has to offer to truly make your vacation the best possible. Here are just a few ideas that most tours will put in their itineraries.
To the south of Fairbanks, you will see Denali National Park. Here is where you come across Mount McKinley, North America’s tallest peak. Sightseers may join a tour of the mountain and catch breathtaking views of landscaping and wild life. Fishing and boating tours with guides are available too.
The Alaska Native Heritage Center as well as the Anchorage Museum of History and Art are found in Anchorage. Additionally, tourists can get tickets to ride the Alaska Railroad or drive along the Scenic Byway. Some good news is that your shopping and dining can be enjoyed sales tax free.
About one hundred and twenty miles south of Anchorage is the waterfront town of Seward. From here boats are available for a trip to the Kenai Fjords National Park. In addition to seeing Exit Glacier, tourists can partake in kayaking, nature trail walking, and even dog mushing.
One really unique experience is a visit to the Arctic. You travel down the Daulton Highway, cross the Yukon River and drive right to the Arctic Ocean. When you get there, you can spot Brooks Mountain Range and the Arctic tundra. Be sure to also look for bears, caribou and greylings.
There is so much to do in Alaska and a good accommodation will help make the experience its best. A good tour will provide info on hotels, motels, hostels, inns, cabins and even tent rental companies. As there is a lot of stuff to do outdoors, you want to have lists of guides and transportation organizations as well as companies that rent equipment like bikes, canoes and kayaks. Many tour books will offer sample itineraries to give you an idea on how to maximize your visit.
This is only a small piece of all that an Alaskan tour can offer. Your visit to the Last Frontier can be filled with exciting stuff like hot air balloon rides, tram rides and jet boats. Of course you may also want to go camping, fishing and hiking. Good information can be found on the internet or by asking others who have already had this amazing experience.

Things To Consider About Spring Break 2011
Spring break 2011 is closing in on us rapidly, and students who haven’t figured out where they are going are starting to scramble. Even some vacations that seem like everyone would enjoy are not right for everybody, so each person needs to think about what they want to be doing during this time off. Working in developing nations, working on your tan, and working on your family relationships are all options.
Many students go home for most of their breaks, and this one isn’t necessarily an exception. Being away at college is often the first time that people have lived anywhere other than their parents’ homes for long periods of time, and it can be hard to be away. Even those who aren’t incredibly homesick often choose to go just because they want to see family members.
That sun-soaked beach represents the standard spring break party experience. Drinking, dancing, and behaving in a way that people find obnoxious when they are not also drunk, dancing college student partiers is common. Usually, this takes place on a beach, but it can be anywhere that the atmosphere of fun over responsibility is allowed to take the reins. Some people enjoy a Las Vegas spring break.
Taking your vacation on the beach (or anywhere) can be financially problematic. For some students, Mom and Dad are picking up the tab for a week in Tahiti, but for others, vacation means one week that they aren’t working, and they can’t even afford to think of going away. Most are somewhere in between.
Going on a trip that doesn’t range so far afield is always cheaper, but if you aren’t planning the trip, you may be left with no influence as to where it goes. Students that can’t afford to take the group vacation dreamed up by whoever is in charge of planning are often left with two undesirable choices: go and run short on money, or don’t go at all.
If neither going home to your parents nor spending a week of debauchery in the sun seems to be your speed, there is another option. Every year, thousands of student volunteers spend their time off setting up houses or working in communities in the developing world. Their contributions can help make villagers’ lives better, and looks great on applications and resumes.
Spring break 2011 is almost upon us, so whatever you plan to do, it’s time to decide. Less privileged nations need your help, your parents want you to come home, and a beach is calling your name. Just make sure you don’t spend it in your dorm.

The Top 10 Tropical Island Paradises for 2011
Today’s meaning of a tropical paradise island is not the story book idea of a desert island with a single palm tree. We need a lot more than that. We decided to discover our Top 10 Tropical Island Paradises that we would love to visit in 2011. Wishful thinking I know, but maybe we can manage a couple. So which islands made it onto the list?
Antigua – This is an island in the Leeward Islands group in the Caribbean. Beautiful White and Pink Beaches and accessible coral reefs make this a firm favourite for beach lovers, snorkelling and scuba diving. Antigua has also made a name for itself for it’s incredible beach weddings and honeymoons. Whether you want to lie back and enjoy the sun spotting the occasional celebrity or prefer to be a bit more active Antigua has something for everyone. We would recommend Nonsuch Bay for its stunning setting in forty acres of tropical landscaped gardens and secluded beach.
Aruba – Where the Azure Sea and Sky seem to merge together this Southern Caribbean island has something for everyone but has a real tropical island feel. Swaying Palm trees and white beaches all add to the experience. You could stay in one of the Ocean Front Rooms of the Tamarijn right on the white sandy beach of Druif Beach and fall asleep to the lapping of the waves. Pure Heaven
Cayman Islands – The three Cayman Islands are grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. These jewels of the Western Caribbean are everyones image of paradise. Our choice has to be Pirates Point Resort on Little Cayman. Here if you are very lucky, you can even take part in the Lionfish roundup!
Fiji – North of New Zealand are more than 300 individual islands that are collected together and known as Fiji, each one a dream island in their own right with trademark clear waters against white beaches. You can trek through jungles or relax in 5 star resorts however our choice has to be the 174 acre private island resort of Castaway Island.
Maldives – A chain of more than a thousand small islands, in fact many are not even islands just tiny atolls that are little more than a short stroll in size. You truly can feel like an island castaway here. Each resort island has a choice of apartments or bungalows on stilts over the stunning seascape. One of our favorites is Full Moon Resort, a narrow atoll that literally takes 20 seconds to walk from one side to the other and maybe 2 minutes to walk the length.
Mauritius – A relatively large tropical island paradise, well compared with some of our other Top 10 choices anyway. Easy to get to and something for everyone when you get there. Like any great tropical island we have the required clear warm waters and white sands here on Mauritius. There are also a broad range of places to stay, we really like Le Saint Geran, a private peninsula jutting out into the ocean.
Perhentian Islands – Somewhere east of Malaysia you just might find the Perhentian Islands, a pair of islands lost in time. There are no roads here, if you want to go somewhere you either trek through the jungle or hop along the coastline in a boat. The Arwana Eco Resort would be one of out top choices here.
Seychelles – Just north of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean are the hundred or so islands that make up the Seychelles. Every last one stunningly beautiful. The second largest island is Preslin with it’s towering palm trees that are inhabited by rare species of birds and animals.
St Lucia – Rising up out of the Eastern Caribbean waters is St Lucia with its sparkling waves, it’s sandy beaches and it’s rain forests. Whether you want to dive, snorkel, ride horses or trek through the forests here is the place to do it. Experience the breathtaking setting of Jalousie Plantation in the rain forest overlooking the sea.
Tahiti – Queen of the pacific, star of many movies is Tahiti and quite rightly so. For somewhere special to stay in Tahiti try the Intercontinental Tahiti resort with it’s own private beach and prepare to be pampered.

The Outdoors Are The Best Part Of An Alaskan Vacation
There are few places in the United States that can boast as much natural beauty as Alaska, and when it comes to untamed natural beauty, this state wins hands down.
From magnificent snow capped mountains to serene lakes full of salmon, Alaska offers an outdoor vacation that’s hard to beat.
If you’re flying into Alaska, your main choices are Anchorage in the south of the state or Fairbanks in the north. You can actually find yourself visiting both cities, flying into one of the airports, then flying out of the opposite one. Since you will be riding in or driving a car to the return airport, this would give you a fairly reasonable guide as to where to go and how to get there. For added adventure, you can take the train from Anchorage to Fairbanks (or vice versa). There are a whole lot of great sights to see here, from the 20,000-plus foot Mt. McKinley, to the 700-foot Mears Memorial Bridge to Hurricane Gulch, a whopping 918-foot wide piece of natural beauty. This may be the best train ride you’ll ever get on in America.
There are numerous recreation options available in Alaska, including chances to try amusing “new” sports like dog mushing in Fairbanks or simply go backpacking in Denali National Park. Those who want to spend the night at Denali National Park need to be advised of this unique, yet understandable policy – anyone planning to stay the night would need to complete a reservation form. Fishing, canoing on the lakes, photographing the natural wildlife, and panning for gold offer more sedate past-times. Speaking of sports and relaxation, you even have the option to play golf at the park. Those who enjoy the adrenaline rush of extreme sports can opt for water rafting, heli-skiing and rock climbing – all available if you visit this wonderful state.
Alaska has a lot more to offer than snow and ice. A vacation here will leave you wishing you had longer to spend in the state, and planning your return visit.
