Well, it’s July and the temperature is approaching 100 degrees here in Central Pennsylvania, so guess what time it is? Yep, It is the PA Festival of the Arts Fest in State College, Pennsylvania. Next to a Penn State football home game, the Arts Fest is probably the biggest social event in State College every year. Streets are closed down for vendors and activities that are fun for both young and old. I will give State College one thing, they really believe that anything worth doing is worth doing right. There are plenty of things to do or view, eat, drink or listen to. And, yes, they even have plenty of cool water to help keep everybody hydrated in the dessert like conditions.
There are tons of volunteers there to help the thousands of visitors ensure a good time and the State College Hotels are filled to the rafters, so everyone is part of the event. Probably the biggest problem that hampers the Arts Fest every year, is the tremendous lack of parking. The entire event is jammed into an all ready small downtown, so there is no likely way to solve the parking dilemma, except to leave plenty early enough to find a spot.
So, pack up your coolest gear and the kids and head on down to the PA Arts Fest and enjoy yourself. It is a relatively cheap outing and like I said earlier, there is plenty to see and do. I have looked around for the latest blog posts to help you know what and when some things going on. Also if you wanted like to visit the Arts Fest and didn’t book a room in time at a State College Hotel, next year try to find a house for rent during the event. Many people do this for Penn State football lodging and it be very convenient and inexpensive.

For thousands of visitors, merely perusing the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts is intriguing on its own. For others, actively volunteering with the event is what creates memories that won’t be forgotten.
